Diritto d’autore

copyright law protecting creative works and their authorized use.

Diritto d’autore is copyright law: the legal framework that protects creative works such as software, text, images, audio, and video, and controls how they may be copied, distributed, adapted, or publicly shared. In cyber security, it matters because many digital assets are both valuable and easy to clone. A stolen source code repository, a leaked training dataset, or a copied website template can create legal and operational risk at the same time.

Attackers often abuse copyrighted material to make phishing pages, fake apps, malware loaders, or pirated software look legitimate. Defenders use copyright claims, platform takedowns, and license enforcement to remove infringing content and disrupt abuse infrastructure. The term also appears in incident response when teams need to share code samples or evidence: they must distinguish between authorized use, fair use or local exceptions, and clear infringement. In practice, copyright is part of digital risk management as well as law.
