Delta plotter

A plotting machine that uses a delta-style motion layout instead of straight X-Y axes.

A delta plotter is a plotting machine that moves a pen with a delta-style mechanism instead of a simple X-Y frame. Rather than commanding one carriage on each axis, the controller must coordinate several arms or actuators to place the pen at the correct point. That makes the motion model more complex, but it can also be compact and precise when tuned correctly.

In cyber security, delta plotters matter because they are a good example of a cyber-physical system: software, geometry, timing, and state all have to agree. Bugs in calibration, firmware, or command sequencing can cause visible misalignment, skipped steps, or incorrect output. In a real attack or defense setting, the same principles apply to robotics, printers, and industrial equipment, where an adversary may try to desynchronize motion or feed bad control data, while defenders focus on integrity checks, safe limits, and reliable state tracking.
