Completion achievement

A marker that recognizes finishing a game or related objectives.

A completion achievement is a durable marker that records when a user finishes a game, a set of challenges, or another defined objective. On modern platforms it is usually tied to an account, so the platform stores the result in profile data and displays it across devices. This makes it more than a cosmetic badge: it is a piece of account state that must be tracked accurately.

In cyber security, completion achievements matter because anything tied to persistent identity can be abused if the backend is weak. Attackers may try to spoof progress, manipulate sync events, replay requests, or exploit poor authorization checks to claim rewards they did not earn. Defenders focus on authenticated updates, server-side validation, tamper-resistant state, and consistent counting across services. When implemented well, the achievement system supports trust and engagement; when implemented badly, it becomes a signal that can be forged, miscounted, or used to test account integrity.
