Cloud SOC

A security operations center focused on monitoring and responding to cloud-based threats.

A Cloud SOC is a security operations center that focuses on cloud environments such as SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS. It collects telemetry from cloud logs, identity systems, endpoints, and workloads, then correlates alerts to find suspicious behavior. Because cloud security is shared between provider and customer, a Cloud SOC must understand which controls it owns, how to access the right data, and how to escalate quickly.

Cloud SOCs matter because many attacks target identity, misconfigurations, and exposed cloud services rather than traditional network perimeters. In real defenses, they watch for unusual sign-ins, privilege escalation, token abuse, data exfiltration, and risky API activity. A mature Cloud SOC can turn scattered signals into a timeline, confirm impact, contain access, and feed lessons back into detection rules, access policies, and incident response playbooks.
