Android Enterprise

Google’s management framework for policy-driven provisioning and control of Android business devices.

Android Enterprise is Google’s management framework for deploying and controlling Android devices used for work. It lets IT teams enroll phones and tablets, apply security policies, separate corporate and personal data with work profiles, enforce app allowlists, and remotely lock or wipe lost devices. Instead of treating each handset as a consumer phone, Android Enterprise turns it into a managed endpoint.

In cyber security, that control matters because mobile devices often hold email, VPN credentials, single sign-on tokens, and access to cloud apps. If a device is unmanaged or out of policy, it becomes an easy path for phishing, malware, data loss, or unauthorized access. Defenders use Android Enterprise to require encryption, keep devices patched, restrict risky apps, and preserve ownership after reset. Attackers, in contrast, often look for devices that were never enrolled or that fell out of management, since those endpoints are harder to monitor and much easier to abuse.
