Agentic identity platform

A system that assigns and manages identity, authorization, and policy for AI agents.

An agentic identity platform is a security system that gives AI agents a managed identity, defined permissions, and policy controls. Instead of treating an agent like an open-ended chatbot, it treats the agent like a governed actor: it must be known, scoped, approved, and auditable. The platform can tie each agent to an owner, limit what systems it can reach, and revoke access when the task is finished.

This matters because AI agents can take repeated actions across business apps, often based on natural-language requests. If they are over-permissioned, they can expose data, change records, or trigger workflows outside the user’s intent. In attacks, adversaries may try prompt injection, stolen credentials, or connector abuse to make an agent act outside policy. In defense, an agentic identity platform supports least privilege, approval workflows, and audit trails so security teams can see what the agent did and stop it quickly.
