A Stingray device, also known as an IMSI catcher, is a surveillance tool used by law enforcement and intelligence agencies to mimic a legitimate cell phone tower. When nearby mobile phones connect to the Stingray, it can intercept calls, text messages, and even track the location of devices without users’ knowledge.
