A redirector is a web page, server, or script that automatically sends users from one URL to another. In cybersecurity, redirectors are often used by attackers to conceal the final destination of malicious links, making it harder for users and security systems to detect threats. Redirectors can be legitimate, such as those used for URL shortening or website maintenance, but are frequently abused in phishing campaigns, malware distribution, and scam operations. By chaining multiple redirectors, attackers obscure their tracks and increase the likelihood that users will click on harmful links without realizing the risk.
