Denial, in cybersecurity, refers to actions or attacks that intentionally prevent legitimate users from accessing systems, services, or resources. The most common example is a Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack, where attackers overwhelm a website or network with excessive traffic, causing it to slow down or become completely inaccessible. Such attacks disrupt normal operations, potentially resulting in financial losses and reputational damage for organizations. Denial tactics can target websites, servers, or even entire networks, and are often used as a form of sabotage or extortion.
