Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are integrations of computation, networking, and physical processes. Embedded computers and networks monitor and control the physical processes, usually with feedback loops where physical processes affect computations and vice versa. Examples include smart grids, autonomous vehicle systems, medical monitoring, and industrial automation. In cybersecurity, CPS pose unique challenges because attacks can have direct physical consequences, making their protection critical. Security in CPS involves safeguarding both digital and physical components, ensuring data integrity, system availability, and the safety of users and environments.
